"So if you get a boyfriend, you won't see me anymore?"

"Of course. I'm loyal, you know. And I won't see you if you get a girlfriend."

"Then I won't tell you."

"Ha, I'd know."

-silence-

"Then let's just do it, you and me."

"What?"

"Let's be girlfriend and boyfriend."

"After all I've heard about you (and some of them's from you)... not a chance in hell."

Of course, after realizing how harsh she was, she apologized after that. He laughed it off.

But it wasn't supposed to be this way. They had an agreement. He knew that... then what the hell is he going on about? They're having fun, right? So what else does he want?

"You," he jokingly quipped. She raised an eyebrow at that.

Ha, jokes. She could take jokes. But she's desperately denying the truth behind the phrase 'jokes are half-meant'.

They played 20 questions once.

"So what would you do if I courted you?"

"I wouldn't know what to do, really. It would be such a shame though. You know the deal."

"Yeah... I know."

Yeah, he knows the deal all right; but it doesn't look like he's abiding by it. And she realized she's on dangerous ground not because it doesn't look like he's holding his end of the deal, but because there's a possibility (small, but a possibility nonetheless) that she might not hold up her end of the deal.

He's damn smooth.

Well there's nothing definite. She'll enjoy it for a while and if things change... well, she'll just deal with it then. She'll deal with the deal.
